Transition to adulthood takes time but goes quickly. There may be medical, social, educational and legal considerations of which you need to be aware. Many of the changes take months or years of planning, which is why it is never too early to think about how that looks.

- Define the legal/medical concerns that need to be addressed as your child grows toward adulthood.
- Discuss the change of focus from school personnel to the parent for program choices once the child is done with high school.
- Explore community ideas that are available and could be of interest to them.
