This conference is for Kansas youth (ages 14-21) who have disabilities and their families. Educators and others who believe all youth should have the opportunity to work, live and play in their communities are, also, welcome to attend (with preference given to families if space is limited).

The Road to the Good Life: Monday, March 1, 6:00-7:30
- Explore possibilities for life after high school
- Increase understanding of transition planning as part of the Individualized education Plan (IEP)
- Identify youth’s strengths, interests, and goals
- Write an action plan for next steps in transition
The Road to Careers and Employment: Tuesday, March 2, 6:00-7:30
- Identify the importance of using discovery and possibility thinking for employment planning
- Learn about post-secondary learning opportunities
- Learn the steps of the Vocational Rehabilitation process
- Write an action plan for next steps in career planning and employment
The Road to Independence and Interdependence: Thursday, March 4; 6:00-7:30
- Identify what independence means for you or your youth
- Increase knowledge of disability rights and the history of the independent living movement
- Increase knowledge of Centers for Independent Living, Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Medicaid waivers, and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits.
- Write an action plan for next steps in living independently and interdependently
